Chiropractic Care Patients Miss Less Work
Dr. Nowak sees several people from the South Buffalo area that are injured while working. According to the National Safety Council, the most frequent kind of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves trauma to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace injuries.
The most common type of MSD is a strain, which is an injury to a muscle or tendon. Strains are caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by engaging in repetitive movements. Other common MSDs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back pain.
These injuries can be prevented by using proper lifting techniques, taking many breaks and using ergonomic tools. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by providing their employees educational materials on how to avoid these injuries.
